In its 10th season, it seemed only appropriate that Busting With Life go all out to win the NZ Breast Cancer Dragon Boat Championship Shield. And ... go all out they did - winning the Shield with room to spare. It was a proud day for the team, and particularly so for the 6 women honoured to receive the Shield on behalf of the team at the awards banquet - all of whom have been with the team since day one. The banquet, co-hosted with the Pink Dragons team, was enjoyed by all 7 breast cancer teams plus representatives from the two new NZ teams - Blenheim and Taranaki. A magical day for all!

Dates for 2009 Regattas

Three regatta dates have been confirmed for 2009:

31 January - Auckland Regatta to be held at the Viaduct - Maritime Museum
14 March - Auckland Dragon Boat Festival to be held at lake Pupuke
28 March - NZ Dragon Boat Nationals to be held at Blue Lake, Rotorua

BWL Wins the NZ Breast Cancer Dragon Boat Championship Shield
At the National Championships at Lake Pupuke, Busting With Life brought the Shield "home" with its best race of the day - well ahead of the 5 other NZ breast cancer survivor teams, and only inches behind visiting Dragons Abreast Gold Coast.

BWL Takes it's First Medal in a Corporate Social Grand Final
On 15 March 08, BWL competed in the Wellington Dragon Boat Festival winning it's first medal in an open category. This success was on the heels of it's 1 March victory in the Tauranga Super 12 where it won gold in the Breast Cancer Grand Final.

St Marks Womens Healthcare joins Chrisco on the 2007-2008 sponsor team.
St Marks Womens Healthcare has generously provided funding for the acquisition of a new dragon boat for the team. This follows a much needed contribution from Chrisco Hampers to fund the re-development of the team web-site as well as the donation of hampers for a team fund-raising raffle.

The team is grateful for the funds provided to support regatta participation and 10th anniversary events.
