StarLake Express Waka Ama Regatta - 11 July 10
On a beautiful winter's morning team members and supporters took part in the 4.5km waka race hosted by NZ Taniwha Dragon Boat and Outrigger Canoe Club. The star shaped course on Lake Pupuke, Takapuna, offered members the opportunity to test their skills at long distance racing.
   
Nationals Ashburton - 27 March 10 
Another win at the Nationals! The 2010 NZ Dragon Boat Nationals hosted by Aoraki DBA and held at Lake Hood near Ashburton was a wonderful venue. The weather conditions were challenging; the competition was hot.  There may not always be the muscle strength and stamina of youth across the BC teams but if the measures are about passion, willingness to participate and dogged determination then this collective group has it in bucket loads.   

Auckland Regionals - 13 March 10

Yet another great day of paddling and a terrific event run by the Auckland Dragon Boat Association. Back-paddling at the start of the Breast Cancer final did not bode well for the finish, but the team paddled their hearts out and were victorious in all ways that count. Bravo ladies!

Paddles Ready !!!

For twelve years and counting, the Busting With Life Dragon Boat team has participated in dragon boat racing to make a difference – to raise awareness of breast cancer and to encourage those living with it to lead full and active lives. And, while making a difference in the wider community, members have competed locally, nationally and internationally, enjoyed new and sustaining friendships, gained from enhanced fitness, and had endless fun.
