For ten years and counting, the Busting With Life Dragon Boat team has participated in dragon boat racing to make a difference – to raise awareness of breast cancer and to encourage those living with it to lead full and active lives. And, while making a difference in the wider community, members have competed locally, nationally and internationally, enjoyed new and sustaining friendships, gained from enhanced fitness, and had endless fun.

Busting With Life - National Champions for 2009!!
Busting With Life took top honours at the National Dragon Boat Championships in the breast Cancer division.
Trivial Pursuit Fund-Raiser
Busting With Life members, families and friends demonstrated a mastery of minutia in a fun Trivial Pursuit fund-raising evening on Saturday 18 April 09. MC Lesley Tucker was her usual brilliant self, and special thanks go to the Milford Forrest Hill Soccer Club who donated the venue and bar staff, and to the multitude of generous organisations who donated spot and raffle prizes.

Congratulations to Helen Chiu, winner of the Chrisco Hamper. Our thanks go to all raffle ticket sellers and especially to Chrisco for donating the hamper to the team for this important fund-raising initiative.
2010 International Breast Cancer Festival Announced
The location of the 2010 International Breast Cancer festival has been announced: Peterborough, Ontario, Canada - to be held 11 - 13 June. Busting With Life will be looking to match or better its 3 podium finishes from the inaugural festival held in Singapore in 2006.
Dates for 2008/2009 Regattas
Five regatta dates have been confirmed for 2008-2009:
- 29 November - Hamilton Super 12 regatta
- 14 February - Tauranga Super 12 regatta
- 28 February - Auckland regatta at the Viaduct (rescheduled from 31 Jan) - Cancelled due to inclement weather
- 14 March - Auckland Dragon Boat Festival to be held at lake Pupuke
- 28 March - NZ Dragon Boat Nationals to be held at Blue Lake, Rotorua
Marcia Fraser Elected Life Member of Busting With Life
At the 25 August 2008 Annual General Meeting, Marcia Fraser was enthusiastically voted a Life Member of the team, recognising the huge contribution she made to the team during her five year presidency and nine years on-the-water. Past-President Trea Kenny made a
presentation to Marcia on behalf of the team.
BWL Celebrates its 10th Anniversary in Style
The 12th of July 08 was a major milestone for the team - 10 years old! It started as a dream of founder Trici Nelson and continues to be a big part of the lives of its members, their families and supporters. Check out the
